MTRS® firm hybrid mattress
A firm hybrid mattress with 2,000 pocket springs, made in the UK
The MTRS® Hybrid Dynamics 2000 is the mattress to buy if you know you want firm. Two thousand individual pocket springs give precise support that follows your body, high-density comfort layers smooth the surface so you feel support rather than springs, and an encapsulated edge keeps the border as firm as the middle.
Made in the UK, 31 to 33 cm deep, one-sided so it only needs rotating, and covered by a 24-month warranty with free UK mainland delivery.

What is inside
2,000 pocket springs under high-density comfort layers
2,000 individual pocket springs. Each spring sits in its own fabric pocket and moves on its own. Press on one and its neighbours stay still, so the mattress follows the line of your body instead of pushing back as one flat sheet. Your hips sink a touch further than your shoulders and your spine stays level. Because the springs work independently there is no roll together, so you do not feel your partner turning over.
High-density comfort layers. Dense foam layers and a quilted knitted top sit above the springs and smooth the surface. The feel is firm and responsive: you lie on it rather than in it, and changing position in the night takes no effort.
Encapsulated edge support. The spring unit is wrapped in a firm foam frame that runs all the way round. Sit on the side to put your shoes on and it holds. Sleep near the edge and you get the same support as the centre, which makes a double or king feel noticeably bigger for two people.
Air circulation. The open pocket spring unit lets air move through the mattress every time you shift, so warmth is carried away from the surface rather than stored in it.

Is a firm mattress right for you?
Choose the Hybrid Dynamics 2000 if you sleep on your back or front, if you are a heavier sleeper or share with someone heavier or lighter than you, or if softer mattresses have left you with a stiff lower back in the morning. It is supportive first and comfortable second, in the best sense of both. If you prefer to feel cradled, a medium such as the Bedzone™ Hybrid will suit you better.
MTRS® mattresses are made in the UK by hand, and this is the first in the collection built as a modern hybrid. The spring unit is encapsulated for stable edges, the comfort layers are bonded and quilted so nothing shifts or bunches, and the border is finished with a woven taupe tape edge that looks right on an upholstered frame or a divan.
Because every mattress is made by hand, the finished depth sits between 31 and 33 cm: deep enough to sit proud of a bed frame and fill a fitted sheet properly, without swallowing a low headboard.

Feel: Firm. Suits back and front sleepers, heavier sleepers, and couples who want a stable surface with no roll together.
Construction: 2,000 individual pocket springs, encapsulated edge support system, high-density comfort layers, quilted knitted sleep surface, woven border with taupe tape edge.
Care: One-sided build. Rotate head to toe (180 degrees) every few months. Do not turn over.
Fits: All PSCL Beds frames, divan bases and ottoman beds in the matching size. Slats should be no more than 7 cm apart.
Tolerance: Every mattress is made by hand, so depth is 31 to 33 cm and width and length can vary by around 2 cm. This is normal for upholstered mattresses and will not affect fit on a correctly sized frame.
Complete the bedroom
Pair it with a handmade bed frame
Ottoman storage beds
A firm hybrid holds its shape when the lid lifts, so it suits a gas-lift ottoman better than a soft, floppy mattress.
Handmade bed frames
Upholstered frames handmade in Yorkshire in your choice of fabric. Add this mattress in the frame’s options and both arrive together.
Prefer a traditional turnable?
The MTRS® Comfort Dynamics® 2000 gives you the same firm feel in a two-sided, naturally filled build you flip season by season.
Good to know
Firm hybrid mattress questions, answered
How firm is a firm hybrid mattress?
Supportive and level, with a smooth quilted surface rather than a hard one. You will not sink in, and turning over takes no effort. If you like to feel held or cradled, look at a medium instead. If you wake with a stiff lower back on a softer mattress, this is usually the fix.
What is the difference between a hybrid and a pocket sprung mattress?
A hybrid combines a pocket spring unit with foam comfort layers in one mattress. You get the airflow, bounce and edge stability of springs together with the smooth, pressure-relieving surface of foam. A traditional pocket sprung mattress uses fibre fillings instead of foam and is usually two-sided; a hybrid is one-sided and more consistent in feel.
Do I need to turn it over?
No. The comfort layers are on the top side only, so it is never turned over. Rotate it head to toe (180 degrees) every few months in the first year, then two or three times a year after that, so both ends wear evenly.
Why does the depth say 31 to 33 cm?
Each mattress is made by hand, so the finished depth varies slightly from one to the next. Allow for 33 cm when choosing fitted sheets: extra deep sheets (up to 35 cm or more) are the safest choice.
Will it fit my bed frame, divan or ottoman bed?
Yes. It suits slatted frames, solid platform bases, divans and gas-lift ottoman beds. Choose the mattress size that matches your frame size and it will sit correctly. On a slatted base, slats should be no more than 7 cm apart for the best support.
Is the edge really usable?
Yes. The spring unit is encapsulated in a firm foam frame, so the border carries weight the same way the centre does. You can sit on the edge to dress, and two people sharing a double can use the full width without one of them drifting towards the middle.
How long is delivery and what does it cost?
Delivery to UK mainland is free and usually takes 5 to 10 working days. If you are buying a bed frame at the same time, add the mattress in the frame’s options and they arrive together.
What is the warranty and can I return it?
The mattress carries a 24-month warranty against manufacturing faults. Standard orders can be returned within 14 days provided the mattress is unused and still in its original packaging, as a mattress that has been slept on cannot be resold for hygiene reasons.
