Ordering and payment

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay securely online by debit or credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay (where your device supports it). You can also spread the cost with 0% finance from Zopa Bank, Klarna or Clearpay.

Are there monthly payment or 0% finance options?

Yes. At checkout you can choose Zopa Bank, Klarna or Clearpay to spread the cost of your order into smaller payments, with 0% options available. Finance is subject to status and each provider's own eligibility checks, and you will see the exact terms before you confirm.

Most products also show an example monthly price on the product page so you can budget before you order.

Can I pay on delivery?

We do not take payment on delivery. All orders are placed and paid for through our website, where you can pay in full or choose one of our finance options.

Can I change my order after placing it?

Please get in touch as soon as possible. Every bed is made to order, so if production has not yet started we will do our best to change the size, colour or options for you. Any price difference will be confirmed with you before we make the change. Message us on WhatsApp, call free on 0800 368 7388 or email [email protected].

I have not received my order confirmation email. What should I do?

Please check your spam or junk folder first, as confirmation emails sometimes land there. If it is not there, contact us with your name and postcode and we will confirm your order and resend the details. Message us on WhatsApp, call free on 0800 368 7388 or email [email protected].

Can I order for my business, hotel or rental property?

Yes, we regularly supply business customers. Simply add your company name at checkout. For larger or repeat orders, or if you need a VAT invoice, contact us and our team will help. Message us on WhatsApp, call free on 0800 368 7388 or email [email protected].

Please note our warranty is designed for residential use, so commercial or rental use is excluded unless agreed in writing.

Delivery

How long will delivery take?

Standard delivery to most UK mainland addresses is 5 to 10 working days from the date of your order. Each bed is handmade to order, which is why we quote a delivery window rather than next day.

Deliveries to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, offshore islands and some remote areas can take a little longer. We will always keep you updated if anything changes.

Is delivery free?

Yes. Delivery is free to UK mainland addresses on all orders. Some remote areas, such as Northern Ireland, the Highlands and offshore islands, may have longer lead times or an extra charge, which will be shown or confirmed before you order.

Can I get my bed faster?

Yes. Selected beds are available with our Rapid Delivery service, handmade and delivered to UK mainland addresses in 3 to 5 working days. Rapid Delivery is a paid upgrade that you can add on eligible product pages. It is not available to Northern Ireland, the Highlands or offshore islands.

See every eligible bed in our Rapid Delivery range.

Do you deliver outside Yorkshire?

Yes. Although our beds are handmade in Yorkshire, we deliver across the whole of the UK mainland, and we can also deliver to Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands, where longer lead times or an extra charge may apply.

Will you contact me before my delivery?

Yes. Once your order is ready, our delivery team will contact you to confirm your delivery day. Please make sure your phone number and email address are correct at checkout so you do not miss our messages.

Can I change my delivery date once it has been scheduled?

Delivery dates are planned into our routes and are fixed once confirmed, but if the day you are given is not convenient, contact us and we will help rearrange it for a different day. Message us on WhatsApp, call free on 0800 368 7388 or email [email protected].

Can I delay my delivery if I am not ready yet?

Yes. Many of our beds offer a delay delivery option on the product page, which is ideal if you are moving house or decorating. If you do not see the option, simply message us after ordering and let us know when would suit you.

Do you take my old bed away?

We do not currently offer a removal service for old beds or mattresses. Most local councils run a low-cost bulky waste collection, and many charities will collect furniture in good condition. It is also worth dismantling your old bed before delivery day so there is a clear space for your new one.

How should I prepare for delivery day?
  • Clear a path from your front door to the bedroom and remove anything fragile from hallways and stairs.
  • Measure doors, hallways and the stairway turn in advance (see the Measuring and access section).
  • Dismantle your old bed if the new one is going in the same place.
  • If you have chosen assembly, make sure the room is clear enough to build the bed in.
What should I do if something is damaged or missing on delivery?

Please check your order when it arrives and let us know as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours, with photos of any damage and the packaging. We will arrange replacement parts or a replacement quickly. Reporting later does not affect your statutory rights. Message us on WhatsApp, call free on 0800 368 7388 or email [email protected].

Measuring and access

What measurements do I need to check before ordering?

The headboard is usually the largest single piece, so check it can reach the room:

  • The width and height of every doorway it needs to pass through.
  • Hallway widths and any tight corners.
  • The stairway, especially any turn, landing or low ceiling at the top.
  • The floor space in the bedroom, allowing room to walk around the bed and open the ottoman lid if you choose storage.

Compare these with the dimensions shown on the product page. If you are unsure, send us your measurements or a photo on WhatsApp and we will check for you.

Will the bed fit up my stairs?

In most homes, yes. Beds are delivered in parts, and the headboard is usually the piece to check. Measure the narrowest width of your stairway and the height clearance at any turn or landing, then compare these with the headboard height and width on the product page.

If space is tight, some of our designs have a two-piece headboard, and a shorter headboard can often be made on request. Read our guide: headboard will not go upstairs? Here are the solutions.

What size bed should I choose?

Our bed frames are made to fit standard UK mattress sizes: single, small double, double, king and super king. Our UK bed and mattress size guide explains each size and how much room you need around the bed. Remember the frame is larger than the mattress itself, so check the frame width and length on the product page against your room.

Will my bed be exactly the size listed?

Every bed is handmade, so measurements can vary by around 2cm either way. This is normal for handmade upholstered furniture and will not affect how your mattress fits.

Will a sofa fit through my door?

Check the width and height of your doors, hallways and any tight turns against the sofa dimensions on the product page, including the depth and height, as sofas are often turned on their end to get through doorways. If you are not sure, send us your measurements and we will help. Message us on WhatsApp, call free on 0800 368 7388 or email [email protected].

Assembly

Do you offer an assembly service?

Yes. On most beds you can add our optional assembly service on the product page before you add it to your basket. Our team will build it for you when it is delivered, so there is nothing for you to put together. Assembly is a paid extra and the price is shown on the product page.

How easy is it to build the bed myself?

Our beds are designed to be simple to put together. Each one comes with written instructions, and you can watch step by step videos in our assembly guides. Two people make the job easier, especially with ottoman beds. If you get stuck, our team is happy to help.

My bed has a split headboard. How do I put it together?

Split (two-piece) headboards are joined together with the fixings supplied before being attached to the frame. Follow the instructions in your pack or our assembly guides, and contact us if you would like help.

Why is my bed creaking and how do I stop it?

Most creaks come from fixings settling after the first few weeks of use. Re-tighten all the frame bolts after 30 days and then every six months, and check the slats are seated correctly. Avoid over-tightening, which can damage the frame. If a creak continues, contact us and we will help you find the cause.

Ottoman storage beds

What is an ottoman bed and how does it work?

An ottoman bed has a lid that lifts up on gas-lift pistons, giving you access to a large storage space underneath the whole mattress area. The gas lifts do most of the work, so the mattress and base rise smoothly and stay open while you reach inside.

What is the difference between a slatted ottoman base and a solid ottoman base?
  • Slatted ottoman base: arrives flat packed, takes a little longer to assemble, and supports your mattress on a series of securely fixed wooden slats. It is the easiest option to get into rooms with tight stairs. View slatted ottoman beds.
  • Solid ottoman base: arrives pre-built in two parts with two storage compartments and a solid wooden platform for the mattress, giving extra strength and durability. Because of its size it is best for homes with roomy stairways. View solid base ottoman beds.
What is a solid black base lid?

It is an upgrade to the standard slats on the ottoman lid: a solid board that supports the whole mattress. Choose it if you would like a stronger, longer-lasting base.

Do you offer side-opening ottoman beds?

No. Our ottoman beds are end-lift, meaning the lid lifts from the foot of the bed. This gives the widest opening and easy access to the full storage area.

What is the maximum mattress weight for an ottoman bed?

The maximum mattress weight for our gas-lift ottoman beds is 60kg. This keeps the lift mechanism working safely and smoothly. Most standard mattresses are well under this, but check the weight if you have a very deep or heavy mattress.

Is an ottoman bed heavy to lift?

No. The gas-lift pistons carry most of the weight of the lid and mattress, so the bed lifts easily with a handle or strap at the foot end and stays open by itself. Lifting feels lightest with a mattress within the 60kg limit.

Are ottoman beds safe around children and pets?

Yes, when used as intended. Always check nobody, including pets, is inside the storage area before closing the lid, do not let children play in or on the open base, and lower the lid with the handle rather than letting it drop. Keep fingers clear of the hinge area while opening and closing.

Do ottoman beds break easily?

A well-made ottoman bed will last for many years. Our frames are handmade with strong wooden bases, and the hinges and gas lifts are covered by our 24-month warranty against failure through normal household use. To keep your bed in top condition, stay within the 60kg mattress limit, re-tighten the bolts after 30 days and every six months, and avoid sitting or standing on the open lid.

My ottoman will not stay up or lifts unevenly. What should I do?

First check that the mattress is within the 60kg limit and that both gas lifts are fitted the right way round as shown in the instructions. If the lid still drops, will not open fully or lifts unevenly, stop using the lift and contact us with a short video. Gas lifts that fail through normal use are covered by our 24-month warranty. Message us on WhatsApp, call free on 0800 368 7388 or email [email protected].

How do I stop damp or mould in the storage area?

Air the storage area regularly by opening the lid, avoid storing anything damp, and use breathable storage bags rather than sealed plastic where possible. Keeping the room well ventilated helps too, and a moisture absorber in the base is useful in older or colder homes.

Headboards, fabrics and care

Can the headboard height be changed?

Yes, on many beds. We can reduce the headboard height, which is useful for sloped ceilings, low windows or tight stairways. Headboards can also be made taller on some designs, up to around 170cm. Look for the custom headboard option on the product page, or contact us to check what is possible for the bed you like.

Will I receive the same bed as in the pictures?

Yes. The bed you receive will be the same design as shown on our website, made in the colour and fabric you choose. Screens can show colours slightly differently, so we recommend ordering free fabric samples if colour matching is important to you.

Can I get fabric samples?

Yes, and they are free. Order your free fabric samples here to see and feel the colours in your own light before you buy.

Which fabric is best for a busy home with children or pets?

Every fabric we use is chosen to be hard wearing for everyday use. Smooth, tightly woven fabrics are generally easiest to wipe and least likely to catch on claws, while deep piles such as velvet and boucle feel luxurious but show marks and pet hair more easily. If you are unsure, order free samples and tell us about your home, and we will suggest the best options.

How do I clean and care for my upholstered bed?
  • Vacuum regularly with a soft upholstery brush to lift dust.
  • Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub, as this can spread the stain and damage the pile.
  • For marks, use a little mild soapy water on a damp cloth and test on a hidden area first.
  • Brush velvet and boucle gently in the direction of the pile to keep it looking fresh.
  • Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals and direct heat, and keep the bed out of strong direct sunlight to help prevent fading.

Mattresses

Will a standard UK mattress fit your bed frames?

Yes. Our frames are built to fit standard UK mattress sizes. Just match the mattress size to your bed size. See our mattress size guide for the exact measurements of each size.

Do you sell mattresses?

Yes. We offer a range of mattresses to suit different sleeping positions and budgets, including options that give extra back support. Browse our mattresses or ask our team for a recommendation.

Do you have beds or mattresses for back support?

Yes. Our team can recommend the right bed and mattress combination for your needs, including firmer and orthopaedic style mattresses. Message us on WhatsApp, call free on 0800 368 7388 or email [email protected].

My new mattress has slight dips. Is this normal?

Yes, a little. All new mattresses soften slightly as the fillings settle around you, and gentle body impressions of up to 3cm are a normal sign of a quality mattress rather than a fault. Rotating your mattress regularly helps it settle evenly. Do not flip a one-sided mattress.

How should I look after my mattress?

Use a washable mattress protector from the first night, rotate the mattress regularly in line with the care label, and make sure it sits on a supportive, correctly sized base. Avoid standing or jumping on the mattress.

Returns and cancellations

Can I return my bed if I change my mind?

Yes. Standard orders come with 14-day returns. You can cancel within 14 days, starting the day after your order is delivered, and return the item for a refund.

  • Tell us within 14 days of delivery by emailing [email protected] with your order number, your name and a clear statement that you want to cancel.
  • Return the item within 14 days of telling us, unused and well packaged. You arrange and pay for return delivery, and we recommend a tracked, insured service.
  • We refund you within 14 days of receiving the item (or proof that you have sent it), to your original payment method.

Items may be inspected as you would in a shop. If an item comes back used or damaged, we may reduce the refund to reflect this.

Are any items excluded from returns?
  • Bespoke items made to your own specification, such as a custom headboard height. We will always make it clear before you order if an item is bespoke.
  • Mattresses that have been used or are no longer in hygienic condition.
  • Optional extras such as Rapid Delivery or other upgrades are not refunded unless the item is faulty. The cost of standard delivery is refunded when you cancel a full order.

None of this affects your rights if an item is faulty. See our terms and conditions for full details.

Can you collect a return for me?

In many cases, yes. If you would rather not arrange your own courier, contact us and we will let you know if we can collect it and confirm the fee before anything is booked. Message us on WhatsApp, call free on 0800 368 7388 or email [email protected].

I ordered the wrong size. What can I do?

Contact us straight away. If your order has not been made yet we can usually change it. If it has already been delivered, your 14-day cancellation right still applies to standard items, and we can talk you through returning it or, where possible, exchanging it.

Can I cancel my order before it is delivered?

Yes. Contact us as soon as possible with your order number. Standard orders can be cancelled for a full refund. For bespoke items that are already in production, we may keep a reasonable amount to cover costs already incurred and will explain how it was worked out. Message us on WhatsApp, call free on 0800 368 7388 or email [email protected].

Warranty and aftercare

What does the 24-month warranty cover?

Every bed frame and mattress we sell is covered for 24 months from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. That includes structural parts, fixings and hardware, factory finishes, and moving parts such as ottoman hinges and gas lifts.

  • Months 1 to 12: we supply parts or a replacement and cover reasonable labour, collection and delivery costs in full.
  • Months 13 to 24: replacement parts remain free of charge. You pay only labour, call-out or delivery fees, which we always quote before any work begins.

Your statutory rights are not affected. Read the full warranty.

What is not covered by the warranty?

Normal wear such as minor scuffs or fabric pilling, damage from incorrect assembly, accidents, misuse or moving house without proper dismantling, commercial or rental use, damp or water damage, and stained or soiled mattresses. Bedding, electrical components and accessories are only covered where the product page says so.

How do I make a warranty claim?
  • Take photos of the issue: a wide shot plus close-ups. For a mattress dip, lay a straight edge across the mattress and photograph a ruler showing the depth.
  • Email [email protected] with your order number, the photos and a short description of the problem.
  • We aim to reply within 2 working days, and may ask for more photos or a quick video call.
  • We then arrange free replacement parts, a repair or a replacement.
