PSCL Model A Handmade Sofa

Available as 2 Seater, 3 Seater and L Shape

Some sofas you sit on. The Model A is one you sink into.

Handmade in the UK, the Model A pairs a relaxed, generous seat with soft, rounded arms that curve away at the sides. It is a shape that feels calm in a modern room and warm in a traditional one. The plump back and seat cushions hold their comfort through everyday use, while the smooth velvet upholstery catches the light and gives the whole piece a quiet, considered finish.

It sits on small solid wood turned feet, lifting the frame just enough to keep the look light. Every panel is cut, upholstered and finished by skilled hands, so the lines stay clean and the cushions sit true.

This is a sofa designed to be the centre of the room. Somewhere to stretch out on a Sunday, to gather everyone for a film, and to still look composed when guests arrive. It is comfort you can see and quality you can feel the moment you sit down.

Comfort Dynamics®, engineered for the way you relax

Every Model A is built around Comfort Dynamics®, our own registered comfort system. It is the reason the sofa feels supportive the day it arrives and stays that way for years.

Comfort Dynamics® brings three things into balance:

  1. A rigid hardwood frame that holds its shape and keeps the sofa quiet and stable.
  2. A responsive sprung seat platform that spreads your weight evenly and stops the seat from sagging in the middle.
  3. Layered foam and fibre cushions that give a soft welcome on top of firm, lasting support underneath.

The result is a seat that feels plush without swallowing you, and supportive without ever feeling hard. It is comfort that is designed, not left to chance.

A frame built to last

Underneath the upholstery, the Model A is built on a solid hardwood frame. The timber is selected for strength and stability, then carefully joined so the structure stays rigid and silent through daily use. Key joints are reinforced and corner-blocked for extra rigidity at the points that take the most strain.

A good sofa is only as good as the frame you cannot see. This one is built to carry years of everyday life without loosening, creaking or losing its shape.

A sprung seat that holds its comfort

The seat sits on a high-tensile sprung platform, tuned to give gently as you sit and spring back as you rise. This is what keeps the seat even and supportive across its whole width, rather than dipping where you sit most.

It is a system you feel rather than see. The seat stays level, the support stays consistent, and the sofa keeps the same inviting feel in year five that it had on day one.

Cushions with the right kind of softness

The seat cushions use a high-resilience foam core wrapped in a softer comfort layer. The foam gives lasting support that resists flattening, while the top layer adds the plush, sink-in welcome you feel the moment you sit.

The back cushions are filled for a softer, more relaxed lean, so you can settle back without losing support. Plump the cushions now and then and they hold their shape and their comfort for the long run.

Premium velvet, beautifully finished

The Model A is upholstered in a smooth premium velvet with a rich, even sheen that shifts gently with the light. It feels soft to the touch and gives the sofa a calm, considered, slightly luxurious presence in the room.

The fabric is tailored neatly to the frame, with clean seams and a smooth finish across the arms and base. The result is a sofa that looks designed rather than simply made.

Details that finish the look

Small solid wood turned feet raise the frame just enough to keep the whole piece feeling light and grounded at the same time. The rounded, sculptural arms soften the lines and make the Model A as comfortable to lean into as it is to look at. Every part is considered, right down to the way the cushions sit true against the frame.

Looking after your Model A

Velvet is easier to live with than many people expect. Plump and rotate the cushions regularly to keep them even, vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment to lift dust, and deal with any spills promptly by blotting rather than rubbing. Keeping the sofa out of constant direct sunlight will help the colour stay rich for longer.

Made the right way

The Model A is handmade in the UK, drawing on more than a decade of British craftsmanship. It is built to be used, to be relaxed on and to settle into the everyday life of your home, not just to look good on the showroom floor. Every sofa is made to order and finished with the same care, so the one that arrives at your door is made for you.
