The fabric
Soft cream bouclé, top to toe
Bouclé is a looped, nubbly weave that catches the light differently across every inch, so even a plain cream piece has depth and warmth to it. On the Arlo the fabric runs over the padded seat and all the way down the sides to the floor, with a single neat seam at the back. Run your hand over it and it feels like a soft woollen jumper rather than a flat upholstery cloth.
The shade is a true cream rather than stark white, which is why it sits so comfortably next to warm woods, brass, ivory bedding and the cream and beige beds in our range. It is the same bouclé look our Teddy and Cloud of Boucle bed frames are known for, scaled down to a single accent piece.

Built properly

Plenty of dressing table stools look the part and then wobble, sag or scuff within a few months. The Arlo is built around a rigid internal frame with a deep padded seat on top, so it stays firm and level when you sit, lean or shift your weight to reach for something on the table.
At 45 cm tall it is a comfortable height for a standard dressing table or desk and sits level with the edge of most bed frames, so it works just as well pulled over to the end of the bed. There are no legs to catch your feet on and no hard base to mark a wooden floor.

Will it fit under my dressing table? Check the clear height under the table top is more than 45 cm and the gap between the legs or drawers is wider than 45 cm.
Seat height: 45 cm suits most dressing tables and desks between 70 and 78 cm tall, and matches the height of a standard 25 cm bed base with a mattress on top.
Fabric: cream bouclé on every surface, including the seat. The colour is a warm cream, not a bright white.

Arlo stool FAQs
What size is the Arlo stool?
It is 45 cm in diameter and 45 cm tall, measured from the floor to the top of the seat. As it is a handmade upholstered piece, allow ±2 cm.
Will it fit under my dressing table?
If there is more than 45 cm of clear height under the table top and the gap between the legs or drawer units is wider than 45 cm, the Arlo will tuck fully underneath. Most dressing tables and desks between 70 and 78 cm tall work well with it.
Does it need assembling?
No. The Arlo arrives in one piece, fully upholstered. Take it out of the box and it is ready to use.
Is the cream fabric hard to keep clean?
Bouclé is more forgiving than a flat cream fabric because the looped texture hides light marks. A quick vacuum with a soft brush attachment lifts dust from the loops, and small spills can be blotted (not rubbed) with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners and keep it out of direct sunlight for long periods, as with any pale upholstery.
Can it be used as a footstool?
Yes. At 45 cm it is a comfortable footstool height for most sofas and armchairs, and it is light enough to move between rooms with one hand.
Does it come in other colours?
The Arlo is sold in cream bouclé as photographed. If you are matching it to a bed in another fabric, our blanket boxes and footstools can be made in the full range of bed fabrics.
How does delivery work?
Delivery is free to UK mainland addresses and takes 5 to 10 working days. If you are ordering a bed at the same time, we can send everything together. You can also choose to delay delivery until a date that suits you.

The headboard height is listed above. If an increase is needed, adjust accordingly as specified by us.
